Ays Necioglu



Ays sits on the Leadership Board of GP and is its former Strategic Partnership Coordinator. Ays Necioglu is the Associate Director of the College Scholars Program at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, a non-profit organization that serves youth of color from under-served communities in NYC, where she develops programming to assist college students’ personal, academic and career development through college graduation. Her work with the SEO College Scholars ranges from one-on-one psychosocial and academic interventions to workshops and seminars serving as many as 120 students providing them with essential academic skills, leadership, interviewing, cover letter writing, and career exploration, networking, and building relationships, to name a few. In addition to being a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker, Ays is also a Field Instructor for graduate students from Columbia University School of Social Work and Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service. Prior to joining SEO, Ays spent one year at the United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) headquarters in the Post-Crisis Transition Unit, where she conducted research on aligning the Millennium Development Goals with post-crisis development in 50 countries; has worked as a Program Development Consultant at LearnServeEthiopia and worked with the Development Department at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Washington, DC. Ays had a one year placement at Planned Parenthood where she did therapy and case management with drug-addicted homeless individuals with HIV/AIDS. She has a passion for international development and was involved with the National Model United Nations and The Hague International Model United Nations for eight years. Ays holds an MS in Social Enterprise Administration with a minor in International Social Welfare from Columbia University and a BA from Vassar College.
