What we do

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to create positive socio-economic change for underserved youth and their communities in low-income urban neighborhoods, and for marginalized rural communities in the Dominican Republic. We achieve this mission by providing comprehensive and individualized mentoring, vocational and life skills training, cross cultural exposure, community development project collaboration, job or internship placement, and social entrepreneurship opportunities. Global Potential provides both a formative experience for participating youth as well as concrete benefit to the communities they work within. Global Potential is developed and supported by Globalhood, Inc., (www.globalhood.org) an innovative multidisciplinary project incubator, and is projecting to initiate its pilot project in February, 2008. Our vision is that as youth develop, communities develop. Challenges become opportunities, and those who might typically receive help, learn how to help others, and therefore themselves.
